一、学院介绍

南京大学现代生物研究院聚焦于原创性生物医学前沿基础研究,鼓励和支持开拓性、系统性的科学探索,致力成为拥有一批国际公认学术权威和“学者型研究环境”的国际一流生物医学研究创新中心。现代生物院实行院长负责制和准聘/长聘 (tenure-track/tenured) 教授制度,拥有相对独立的人事和财务自主权,实行与国际顶尖大学接轨的教授招聘、学术评估和晋升模式以及研究生培养体系。现有林安宁教授和帅克教授2位终身教授,曾分别在美国芝加哥大学和加州大学洛杉矶分校任终身正教授。另有的6位准聘助理教授,均有完整出色的海外博士后训练经历并取得国际一流水平的创新研究成果。研究院与鼓楼医院、江北核心商务区等建立了合作伙伴关系,并聘请国际著名学者组成科学顾问委员会,为现代生物院的发展提供战略性咨询和建议,具有较大的国际影响力。

二、招聘岗位设置

南京大学现代生物研究院拟面向全球招聘现代生物院面向全球招聘有志于从事生物医学前沿基础研究的优秀青年人才到学院工作。本次拟招聘岗位为准聘助理教授,岗位总数原则上不超过4个。招聘研究方向包括:

1. 计算机模拟和生物人工智能

2. 感染、免疫与代谢机理

3. 癌症和神经退行性疾病等重大疾病分子机制

4. 基因编辑

5. 创新型药物研发和精准医学

三、申请条件

1. 遵守中华人民共和国法律和法规,热爱教学科研事业;

2. 具有良好的师德师风,恪守学术道德,勤勉工作,无犯罪记录,无违反师德师风和学术道德惩处记录;

3. 一流的学术背景:具有相关学科领域的博士学位,具有一流教学科研机构的学习、工作经验,熟悉相关领域国际前沿的研究动态。其中助理教授、副教授要求申请人应具有完整出色的博士后训练经历并取得国际一流水平的创新研究成果,能够独立开展创新型研究;

4. 出色的教学能力:应具有能够胜任本专业核心基础课程和前沿课程的教学能力,掌握良好的教学方法,具有较强的语言表达能力;

5. 突出的科研成果显示度与未来科研发展潜力:应有相关研究方向的成果显示度,对相关研究领域有原创性观点,未来研究计划思路清晰,具有较好的学术潜力。

Tenure-Track Faculty Positions

Institute of Modern Biology, Nanjing University

I. Introduction of the Institute

The Institute of Modern Biology of Nanjing University focuses on original basic biomedical research, encourages and supports pioneering and systematic scientific exploration, and strives to become a world-class biomedical research innovation center with a group of internationally recognized academic authorities and a "scholarly research environment". The dean of Institute of Modern Biology takes full responsibilities of all institutional affairs. And the institute applies tenure-track/tenured professorship with highly autonomy on personnel, financial professorial recruitment, academic and tenured-evaluation. Graduate student training system here are also in line with top international universities. At present the institute has two tenured professors, Professor Anning Lin and Professor Ke Shuai. They were respectively tenured professors at the University of Chicago and the University of California, Los Angeles. The six assistant professors in the tenure-track are all with outstanding overseas postdoctoral training experience and have achieved innovative research results of international top level. The Institute has established partnerships with Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital and Jiangbei Core Business District. The institute has a group of internationally renowned scholars with large influence as scientific advisory committee to provide advices on strategic and institution development.

II. The Positions

The Institute of Modern Biology of Nanjing University plans to recruit young scholars who are interested in engaging in basic research at the frontier of biomedicine to work in the Institute of Modern Biology for the whole world. The proposed recruitment positions are for tenure-track assistant professors, and the total number of recruitments is, in principle, no more than four. Specific fields of research open for recruitment are:

(1) Computer simulation and bio-artificial intelligence

(2) Infection, immunity and metabolic mechanism

(3) Molecular mechanisms of major diseases such as cancer and neurodegenerative diseases

(4) Gene editing

(5) Innovative Drug Discovery and Precision medicine

III. Conditions for Application

The applicant should

1. abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, and have a passion for teaching and research;

2. abide by the ethics of teachers, uphold academic integrity, be willing to work diligently, and have no criminal record or record in breaching the ethics of teachers and/or academic integrity;

3. have a first-rate background in academic training—specifically, a PhD in relevant disciplines, experience in studying and/or working at first-rate teaching and research institutions, and knowledge of the latest international trends and development in the relevant research field(s); The applicant for Assistant Professor and Associate Professor should have a complete and outstanding postdoctoral training experience and have achieved innovative research results of international first-class level, and be able to carry out innovative research independently.

4. have outstanding teaching abilities—the applicant should be able to teach core and frontline courses in the corresponding discipline, and have sound teaching methodology and strong verbal skills;

5. demonstrate outstanding research output and potential—the applicant should have publications in his/her field of research, original ideas about relevant fields of research, a clear vision about future research plans, and good potential for further academic development.
